MICHAEL, 18
Since 2013 I go to boarding school in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. I started with cycling in middle school. Whenever time permits I find myself in the dirt-park or on a downhill course with my friends. Last year I started with road-cycling and participated in a couple of races. I have always promoted the idea of supporting people in need. During my summer break I worked voluntarily in nursing homes in Europe and taught classes in a children-supporting institution. Now it is time for a next step and combine hobby and engagement.

I was born in Almaty Kazakhstan. Mountain biking is one of the most popular sports amongst the teenagers in my town; it is on the
Tian Shan mountain range not far from the Chinese border. When I was 13, my family moved to Europe where I kept this hobby. Now I attend a boarding school in Mercersburg, PA - here, under the
supervision of Matt Caretti, winner of the Tour d'Afrique winner in 2006, I continue to develop my interest in biking.
